SO WHY IS THIS MEETING SO IMPORTANT???? READ ON...
A personal message from Bob Martin,
Your Mobile District Chair of the LPA
Dear friends,
This local meeting hits a very important spot on the calendar.
If falls a week after the LPA executive meeting in Birmingham, and only a few days before the most important event, the LPA State Convention in Montgomery!
This will be the convention where we will vote for a candadate to represent us in the Govenor's Race.
At this point in time, the party is being courted by Mrs. Loretta Nall in her bid to have the LPA nominate her as our candidate.
The alternative to Mrs. Nall is a vote for "None of the above", unless a darkhorse candidate appears..which is unlikely.
Most of us have had the pleasure of meeting with Mrs. Nall at our local meeting in Mobile, and through her press releases and other events covered in both the media and on the LPA state website at http://www.lpalabama.org/
As such, I would ask that you come and be with us at this important district meeting, APRIL 6, 2006 (Thursday evening) at 6:30pm, at Satori, so that I can listen to your thoughts and carry that message (whether it be Mrs. Nall or "None of the above")to the convention in Birmingham.
Remember, this is your opportunity to really let your voice be heard!
The Libertarian Party of Alabama State Convention will be held on April 8 at the COUNTRY INN AND SUITES in Montgomery.
If you wish to come, please make sure you let The COUNTRY INN AND SUITES know your reservation is for the convention group
(They gave me a discount, you may get one too!)
Any last minute news I get from the Executive Committee meeting will also be discussed if relevent. Thank you for your input and continued support! Together in the fight for liberty,
-Bob Martin
NEWS FROM OUR DECEMBER MEETING!
Our December meeting was a lot of fun, with some of our regular faces, and some faces (Like Fred Here) we have not seen for a while!
Here, Dick and Richard are deep in thought,
While state chair James Hines belted out some great tunes and some remarkable guitar work!
We had some great political discussion even though no "free samples" were handed out !
NEWS FROM OUR NOVEMBER MEETING!
Our November meeting was a lot of fun, and located at what may be our new home,
The SATORI Coffee and Tea House
We would like to thank Satori's Host James for the great drinks and for making us all feel so at home!
Our guest speaker at the meeting was Loretta Nall - of the Alabama USMJP (U.S. Marijuana Party) who is seeking the nomination of the LP of AL to run as our candidate for governor of Alabama.
(That is a joke folks!)

A Nomination was made for your humble webmaster (Bob Martin) to assume the chair, which I did offer to accept after making sure no one else in the membership was left wanting for the position. A vote of the members was taken and I am now proud to act as YOUR Mobile District Chair for our party. Here is a photo of me and Loretta mugging for the camera shortly after the vote! |

| Dick Coffee has announced his candidacy for District 1, US House of Representatives. He will seek the nomination of the Libertarian Party of Alabama at their State Convention in early 2006. “In Alabama, and throughout the United States, it is time that we consider smaller and much less intrusive government as a major solution to our ills.” said Dick Coffee. “When it comes to government , smaller is better!” he added. Dick Coffee challenges Congressman Bonner to force him out of the race by reading and working within the philosophy of Section 35 of the Alabama Constitution. Dick Coffee believes it to be an incredible quote that defines the purpose of both Alabama and Federal government: | ![]() |
